Crafting a nonprofit brand bringing DC area communities access to fresh produce

OurFarm is a DC-based nonprofit helping schools and community organizations in food-insecure areas access their own source of produce through high-yield, high-tech hydroponic farms. They were launching their first major initiative: installing a farm on the campus of Covenant House of Greater Washington. The Covenant House community would receive weekly produce donations and the farm would become a central fixture in their garden space.

In preparation for the big launch, Mike, OurFarm’s founder, came to us in need of a logo and brand kit to support marketing and fundraising efforts. We reviewed competitors, inspiration, and past branding attempts with Mike to understand his preferences. This informed moodboards we developed to hone in on a direction. We landed on a fresh, eye-catching brand identity, along with a brand kit and examples of how the kit might be applied. This gave Mike branding he could showcase proudly, and the tools to confidently carry that branding forward in upcoming campaigns.

In their first year, OurFarm harvested 4000 lbs of fresh produce, most of which went to food-insecure individuals and community organizations like Covenant House. We’re honored to have been a part of OurFarm’s early journey, and we're excited for all the great work they’re doing for DC area communities. Follow OurFarm on LinkedIn.

The Rally team blew me away. As an early-stage nonprofit, we needed a brand identity that reflects our mission—one we could proudly launch in tandem with an upcoming flagship initiative. Branding is often a long process, so I wasn't expecting the robust and deeply thoughtful brand kit that Rally expertly delivered, with speed.
